Who We Are

The Emmonak Corporation was established on December 18, 1971 when the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) was enacted into law. The Emmonak Corporation had originally 478 shareholders.

Emmonak, Alaska is located 490 miles from Anchorage in Western Alaska. The village currently has 762 residents of which 97% are Yup’ik Eskimo People according to recent U.S. Census Data. Economically, Emmonak has a strong reliance on seasonal subsistence hunting and fishing. Residents travel to subsistence fish camps during summer months to dry salmon for consumption in the winter.

The Emmonak Corporation owns and operates the Emmonak Company Store and the Emmonak Tank Farm as well as about 400 acres of land. As a retailer for firearms, fuel sales, general merchandise and groceries the Corporation is an important and vital part of the community of Emmonak.

Additionally the Emmonak Corporation is the surface estate land owner of 183,674 acres surrounding the community. All surface lands selected by Emmonak Corporation are within the Yukon Delta National Refuge Boundary. There is very limited supply of private lands in the Yukon Delta National Refuge.

The Emmonak Company Store provides groceries and hardware.

Tank Farm

The Emmonak Tank Farm provides gas and propane to the community. They have a capacity of 200,000 gallons of gas and 150,000 gallons of heating fuel.

Field Calibrations is listed under the Buy Indian Act (25 USC 47) which provides the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) with the authority to set-aside procurement contracts for Indian-owned and controlled businesses. Field Calibration, Inc. will file for SBA 8a license in the near future. Field Calibrations, Inc. headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona is wholly owned by a holding company owned by Emmonak Corporation.
